Change the default collection sorting to your liking. No coding or app needed. I will go step by step with the process.
1. Go to your Admin Store > Products > Collections. See image below
2, Click the collection that you want to change the sorting.
3. Under the Products section find the sorting and change it to your liking. See image below.
